My Water Bottle

My water bottle is covered in stickers. The students love to look at them, and so do I. Each one brings me joy.

Side 1

Side 1:

  • Iris Tattoo and Piercing flower from my third and fourth holes I got in 2023
  • A llama from the cultural carnival last year, representing my love of knitting
  • A hint of a pink tulips sticker, also from the carnival, for my family friends in Holland

  • “Forgive Me!” sticker. My college friend/fellow writer, Bob, created a podcast and I got this sticker as a token for supporting their GoFundMe. I believe it was illustrated by his wife!

  • Cobscook Institute sticker from where the Quoddy Writing Retreat took place; I also love its LGBTQIA+ flag in the background
  • London sticker, also from last year’s cultural carnival, for my London boy
  • Leslie Knope sticker — my absolute fave — from my student M.

I was stumped for what to write this morning, and then I looked at my water bottle and saw the Leslie Knope sticker with the quote, “I am super chill all the time!”

It made me laugh as I remembered my PMS-induced outburst on Monday when I was helping some tired and reluctant students (not my best moment). It’s a good reminder to not take myself too seriously.

    I have a new water bottle, and I haven’t stickered it up yet– past water bottles, yes! Love the stories that are part of each one. The post was fun to read and relate to!

      Whenever I get a new water bottle, I think, I’ll keep this one clean! But the moment a worthy sticker is presented to me? Game over!

    This is a great thing to slice about! I found some great stickers on Etsy for my friend that puts them on her water bottle. I was so honored that she put it on there, because the water bottle stickers get a lot of attention, and they are carefully curated. And it was silly, a Below Deck (the reality TV show) sticker, but it makes me laugh when I see it every time!

    Part way through our big trip last year we had to buy a new water bottle to replace a broken one. Then we started finding & adding stickers to it. (I wish I had thought of that at the start.) I don’t know why my every day bottle has none, but after reading your post, I’ll start looking for some. Thank you for sharing.

    Love the sticker post. I love to put stickers on my planbook and on my notebooks–they definitely tell a story. I enjoyed hearing yours!

    I’m such a big fan of your water bottle! Mine looks old and the stickers are half off for some reason! But yours truly represents you❤️ Love it!
